Facts about Fallout

Here is the cover of a pamphlet about fallout protection from the 1950's that I found at an estate sale several weeks ago. You can read the rest of the pamphlet on my flickr account here.

Enameled Tacks!

Estate sales haven't turned up any great ephemera or photo finds, and the weekly auction has been photo free, but this friday I did find some great enameled tacks! They are in a variety of different shapes and colors. I don't know how I lived without them.

Photobooth Finds

This is possibly my favorite picture in my collection. His pouty face, and the fabric background are so perfect. I found him at the bottom of a box that I purchased at an auction 6 months ago. This Saturday I was at a flea market looking through a small box of photos and found this...It really blew me away that out of the thousands of photos in the world I manage to find two photobooth pictures from the same strip. It was a pleasant surprise. Here are two others I picked up.

I Don't Drink Anymore

"This is a picture of me in the parlor. I don't drink anymore"
The mystery of this photo: was it taken before or after he stopped drinking?

My name is Nolan. The blog is named after the Belle & Sebastian song. I spend my weekends scouring estate sales, flea markets, and auctions. There is nothing more exciting than discovering a basement full of paper.

I have a store on Etsy to help fuel my addiction. Care to take a look?
